A pleasant masterpiece of the night sky, it has retained an important position in every culture for centuries. It beautifully holds a special place in our imaginations and is the only celestial body that has been visited by humans. Symbolizing many Goddesses and many other powers, worship of the moon has been a common practice since the beginning of time, most especially that we are now in the trenches of the Lunar season bringing out the magick of the moon and its magnificent phases. Every phase of the Moon is symbolically the Mother Goddess in a certain stage of her life and brings in energy believed to be significant in spells and rituals. The New Moon marks new beginnings and endeavors. The Moon appears to be growing in size gaining its strength in the Waxing phase. The Moon’s most powerful Full phase is when we see her entire illuminated face. This is a time of fulfillment, increased psychic ability for perfecting ideas, celebrations, or renewing commitments to people and projects. During the Waning Moon phase, the Moon is decreasing in size as it journeys from Full to Dark. It is the perfect time of release, letting go and completion. The time of rest in the Dark Moon comes completely last. This is the time to banish negative energies from our lives that we are serious about getting rid of. It is no wonder that the Moon is revered as the Queen of the Night sailing through the heavens with her sparkling and starry light. This, indeed, is a traditional reminder that the magick moon paves the way for us to fill ourselves with its light every time we lost direction or miss to connect the creative essence of its significance into our lives.
